drawn to using nature (foliage) as part of the translation from heart to hand to canvas. marci uses indigenous plants as implements and guides, rarely using brushes. preferring the rugged texture of bark and vines, like skin, like veins... she loves being outside when painting. living in the australian bush there is a plethora of sounds, wildlfe, colour and beauty all around... the smell of eucalyptus and the mixing of rich red ochre... these already create a visual harmony

marci's paintings are indicative of her fascination with the base nature of the rustic and the raw. her aim is to transfer the emotion, the story within - to the canvas and thereby create a prose that is innately her truth. the paintings are her stories. some she has carried within her for years and others are simply her now. within all of this lies the true essence of who she is
